A freind of mine posted this on another BB...
any idea what is wrong with my truck? I had to get the head gasket replaced
a couple of weeks ago (yes, had thermostat problems a couple of months before). When I got the truck back, it now
hesitates when it gets in higher speeds, as if there is a kink in the fuel line. It has to be related to the gas flow, because it
only does it when I am using the accelerator. It gets especially bad when I am slowing down with my foot down on the
accelerator. It will also do it at about 40 mph, right before I shift into 4th. I called the mechanic who replaced the head
gasket and he said it could be anything, and I would have to wait until it got worse before they could determine what is
is!! He also said that he didn't see how it could have anything to do with what they worked on. The way I see it, my
truck was not doing this before I brought it in, and they had to take the engine apart, and the first day I get it back it is
doing this! Needless to say, I don't want to take it back to this mechanic, so I am looking for another one. I have tried
the gas treatment for carbuerators and it didn't make any difference. My truck is an '87. Can you check with hubby
pretty please and see if he has any ideas?
