2 weeks ago, a local dude who is in my car club chose to not remove some of the soft material items inside the cab of a pickup truck he is restofying. All he simply did was plate the tunnel where someone had hacked it to put a 4 speed in it. The next morning when he walked in, the inside of his business ( he owns his own shop) was smoke damaged and the cab of the pickup was crispy. Just a reminder, when welding or even grinding triple check before you leave the worksite that no smoldering is going on in headliners and such. Kudo's to the guy who welded in your cage for doing the job right.
Dan the guy who is putting the cage in my '70 called today and said he had to tear the headliner out, he gave some "lame" excuse about it could catch on fire(lol). Hate that it was the original liner with absolutely NO FLAWS. O well that was about the only thing left on it that was factory. Guess you cannot have it all. |
