Hi! I found the article for replacing the 73+ gas tank with an early Mustang tank, but will that work for a '70? Anyone had any luck FINDING a tank for a '70 under $200? It's been a wild goose chase for me, and I'm considering just putting a fuel cell in it.

I searched for years her on the West Coast and found a big NOTHING, if it is still functional with only surface corrosion you can use Glyptol (like a ceramic coating) to reline the tank. Its also good if you only drive the car on sunny days, keeps water from damaging it and contaminating your filter/carb. Otherwise I would go with a cell, more practical than hacking and grinding to modify.
