I am figuring on redoing my exhaust, but I want it done right. (I decided to wait on the cylinder heads swap because I have run into more problems with finding interior parts. )
my question is do '77 302's have windsor heads? I was looking at my specs and it appears that my engine does have the W heads. If so what kind of headers do I need to get? My auto krafters cataloge has the headman headers, which do not work with the air injection (which i have). It also has the hooker headers, which say they do not work with the windsor heads. I have no clue which pair I can get.***********************************************************
There is no difference between the outer dimensions between a 302 and a 351W head. The differences lie with the port size and chamber size/shape. What this means is that any header that bolts up to a 302 with factory 302 heads will fit on a 302 with factory 351W heads. The Hooker description probably states that they will not work with the 351W engine (as opposed to the head. Get a 302 header and you will be fine.
