Vacuum leaks may have started a valve burning by leaned out a cyl. If you're considering rebuilding the engine, not yet. Probably bad rings in that cyl. And by the way, a 460 will go in where that 400 is. Same trans bell housing and motor mounts. You can even use the Dist, and acc. mounts to.
This is Ford related but not from a maverick, I hope someone can answer anyway. I recently tested the cylinder compression on my F-250 w/400. The results showed one cylinder significantly lower than the rest: 1- 125, 2-95, 3-130, 4-130, 5-120, 6-125, 7-130, 8-130. Is cylinder 2 at 95 psi far enough less than the others that I need to do something real soon? The truck runs pretty rough right now but I am tracking down vacuum leaks which I think are a big part of that.
