i got lucky. i bought mine from a friend who had upgraded to a weiand stealth. it wasnt doing him any good, and he wanted to help a brother out.
i doubt youll find an aluminum intake for $30. i wouldnt be stunned to find one as low as $50. i wouldnt pay more than $75 for a used performer 289.

good luck. just shop around.
