Rudy, Something else to check, only because it happened on my "old" 250 inline 6 cyl... If the fuel filter checks out, check the fuel pump pressure. My old pump went bad and only supplied a dribble of fuel (enough to run at idle) but the carb bowls would empty pretty quick if I demanded more fuel. Another idea, pull the fuel line under the drivers door (short rubber length) and check the gravity-fed fuel flow. If it is good then the problem is probably the pump/fuel filter. If it just "dribbles" out then the tank is probably rusted and clogged the fuel pickup in the tank. Good luck and let us know what you find out!
The mav is acting up, it is a 1970 I6 200. The car is bone stock except for a K&N air filter. When I was driving it the other day it died, not violently or anything, just stopped running, I was able to start it back up every time but if I tried to give it any gas it would just die again. I was able to baby it home after many many tries. The car idles in park great, but doesn't like to be revved. Usually dies if you rev it much higher than idle in park. I am going to change the points and the condenser (They are about due) but if that is not it does anyone have any idea's. A couple days ago, before the mav started acting up, I sprayed some carb cleaner down the carb, is it a possiblilty that the cleaner ate some rubber part and screwed it up?
