Mike,
If you have A/C also there should be a inline valve like Ken metioned. That valve will operate (close) when the A/C is turned on(Keep me honest Ken). I just had to replace the heater core in my '75 with A/C. I had heat but also the puff of steam from the defroster and dash vents. Also the anti-freeze smell that Ken mentioned. Damp carpet was no extra charge. Is your blower motor working OK? If you have a bad heater core, Goog Luck. Changing it is something I wouldn't wish on an enemy. Not impossible but a big job. If you would like me to elaborate more let me know. If you need parts let me know. I have a unit from my '74 donor that I am parting out. I also have a complete unit from a '76 (with A/C). Jack |
