Have you checked the timing, lately? Mine did the same thing once, would not go above 6800rpm. The timing was off about 4 degrees. Also someone posted about a electric fuel pump and regulator, I think 5 pds is not enough, I run mine at 8 pds. But with out a doubt your mechanical fuel systems needs to go. Just my thoughts.
