You might look for a set that fits a 351W in the 64-66 Stangs. Smaller compartment. PS is always a hassle as is column shifter, or a set that the front tubes go forward then back. Each manufacturer uses a little different tube style so might also try calling each one and asking them. I've used a set of 302 ones, but they are a test of your grit. Primary tube size also is a big factor 1 5/8" or 1 3/4".
Ok, guys help me out. I'm in the process of putting a stroker (393) in my mav bracket car. I'm using a powerglide trans with a jw bellhousing adapter. My problem is headers, I've tried to build a set but cant get it to work. The engine is too close to the the lower part of the towers (due to the windsor's taller/wider engine). Also tried a set of old 302 headers that came out of the car, but they wont fit either. For those of you who have done this swap, what headers do I need to get, what engine mounts do I need? If you all have any pictures, that would be even better. I've already chopped the towers, but you can only cut the top part, the bottom has to stay in place for the upper a-arm to bolt to, and that's where the problem lies....nothing fits. I even tried to put a 1 3/4 piece of tubing between the head (victor Jr.) and the tower, and it wont even fit! Somebody please help! I'm beginning to think I might need to ditch it and go buy a mustang.
