:=GUYS!! ANY engine can be made to wind high rpm if properly cammed and fueled subject to the limits of the strength of the block and internal parts. The TAG put on some engines is often in reference to some peticular trait of that engine and does not mean that engine will not rev high if proprtly equiped.
:=As an example, one could build the 200 six to rev 7000 if there was a need to do so.

realy? how would you do that to a 170... (at least get some decient power till i can get the grabber done)

I didn't reference this to cost. You really don't want to do this with a six if your intention is to go to a 302. It was only a technical example that it can be done.
You would be talking about a highly modified head for induction, carburation, porting, valve work, forged pistons, steel rods, exhaust etc. for reliability when used that way.
The HP level could reasonably be expected to get to 1.5 hp/cu in if enough work is put into the assembly. And would not end up being a good street engine. Don't hang on the words about these things. It's what it take to do it that counts.
