I got 2 LDOs 2 doors. They don't come with speakers grills in the kick pannels. I cut them. Had a 74 LDO too 4 door as well... no speakers grills as well. Also had a regular 75 and it didn't have any either. I don't think any mavericks came with them factory correct me if im wrong. So you just might be out of luck or get the jig saw out.
Good Luck I just installed a set of speakers behind the kick panels in my 77 4-door Mav' about a week ago.
It is kinda funny that Ford left us the openings in the sheetmetal BEHIND the front kick panels for speakers to mount in but I also have never seen a Maverick with grills in the kick panels either. I had to kinda "eyeball" where the center of the speaker would be and then made a template so I could transfer the circumference of the speakers onto the kick panels.
Then I broke out the trusty jig saw and cut the openings. I got pretty lucky as I had very little trimming to do when my cuts were finished,,,I just used the grills that came with the speakers. Overall it looks pretty good and the speaker grills stick out slightly from my modified kick panels.
The toughest one was the passenger side panel as it has some funky contours moulded into it but I was able to tweak the panel slightly to get it to look more appealing.
Just be careful of the drivers side speaker too, you will end up with a clearance problem for the parking brake pedal if you try to mount the speakers directly on the kick panel, thats why I resorted to using the locations provided behind the panels and then had to be careful when cutting the openings in the panels. one rule of thumb to remember when cutting the holes though,,,Its always best to cut the holes smaller than you need and just trim them as required to get the best fit,,,"MEASURE TWICE--CUT ONCE" LOL ANDE
