steering column

called flaming river today, thinking about a tilt column. I was told that they didn't know the length of a stock mav column, and he said he recommended a late 60s mustang column. does anyone know if a mustang column will bolt in or are they very different? or if you know the length, either 32" or 34", this would be helpful. thank you in advance.
