As I'm refurbing the engine bay on the '70 Mav, which arrived at my house without an engine, I was puzzeled when I came across this 'bracket on a bracket'.
I'm sure I'll figure it out when I put the engine in, but for now I have no idea what this is for? It's located on top of the driver's side sway bar support bracket. The passenger side doesn't have this on it's bracket. Anyone? Anyone? Class? Anyone? Thanks fellow Mav/Cometiers, Rick I agree. Someone was probably breaking motor mounts and came up with this fix. Chevrolet did it back in the early 70's as a fix to the Impalas with the hot 327. I broke one in the family car myself, power braking in a drag race. Dad couldn't figure out why they broke until he got the notice from Chevrolet! |
