It is kind of a bear to get to indeed but not impossible. First thing you have to do, after disconnecting the battery, is to remove the knob & shaft. There is a small button on the side of the switch that you press and hold, then pull the knob & shaft right out. Check your new swith for the location. Second take a big straight blade screwdriver and unscrew the chrome bezel (where the shaft just came out of) from the switch. The switch is now free to drop down and unplug the wiring harness. I would recommend wearing a good pair of leather gloves before you thrust your hand under the dash. There are alot of sharp edges under there just waiting for ya.
