The answer to your question is yes. I installed a set of 72 grabber bucket seats in my 74 bench seat car and the holes on the rails line up. You will have to drill the floor pan for the inboard rails. In my 74 the carpet was factory cut at the locations where the inboard rails would have been located. I suspect that the carpets are all made the same allowing for installation of the bench sear or bucket seat options. These cuts may be difficult to spot as there are two 1 inch cuts in a crosshair pattern. The floor pan is also dimpled where you need to drill for the inboard rails so it is a very straight forward process. You can do it without removing the carpet! What I'm unsure of is if the newer non-catalytic converter seats and rails will bolt into the 71! All I can tell you is 72 seats bolted into my 74 which does not have the converter.
