I have an 8.8 with 3.73 gears and disc brakes out of an 87 tbird turbo coupe. This was to be a direct bolt in to my 86 stang gt, but I am thinking it might be more exciting on the mav then my stang. It has 4 lugs, but I am purchasing my sis's totaled out 6 cyl 95 stang, and can use the axle shafts etc from the 95 to upgrade it to the 5 lug. Anybody know enough that this rear could work or not? Of course I will have to convert the 72 mav to power brakes, I already have the front end off of a 73 stang that I was gonna bolt in. Imagine a 4 wheel disc maverick!!

You are awhere that the 8.8 T-Bird mounting is not any where near the same as the Mav! Better to take a look at a rear from a late Ford Explorer. The are already set up with leaf springs.
