I recently put Hedman #88-400 headers on my Maverick. They are the shortys designed for Mustangs, etc, but they work just fine on Mavericks. I don't have an AOD, but in the March 2001 issue of Mustang & Fords, they installed these same headers on a 65 Mustang with an AOD. These fit nicely with the transmission. They meantioned that it was nice not to have column linkage to mess with. Maybe this is a hint... Anyway, hope this helps. How much did you have to change on the Maverick to get the AOD to fit? Did you change the tunnel, etc..? I am interested for a possible future swap. Thanks.
