Can't help you with the rear pan, but you WILL want to add stiffeners to your frame.

The picture attached shows another MCCI guy's sub-frame connectors. They look like they'll do MORE than just right! I don't know the specifics of his connectors but you get the idea. You could get away with a smaller cross section (rectangular or square channel). I'm not sure if the connectors shown are the lowest point of the car or not - if it's strip-only, street/strip, etc. The ones shown could handle a thousand horses w/transbrake (just guessing - again, I don't know the material, dimensions, what size and type of welds, etc.).

Also, adding a 6-point roll bar or a 10-point cage will greatly stiffen the body to get you going straight down the track. Check your local hotrod shop or visit a nearby race track to see if someone in your area is recommended.

You're also going to have to figure out what to do about spinning and/or wheel hop. Caltrac (see link) makes a good set of traction bars.

Also, I understand the 8" rears are limited to certain h.p.'s. You may want to check another source to see what they will safely handle (W and W/OUT a transbrake) or just go straight to a 9".

Good luck and be safe,

Rick
