Hello all, I'm looking for any and all information anyone might have on a certain vinyl that was supposedly used on 71 Comet GTs. The reason I am looking for it is because I have been searching for this same vinyl material to use on my 1970 Plymouth Barracuda. In my search someone mailed me saying "They used it on my 71 Comet GT..try there" What makes this vinyl so different is its looks! Its called Gator Grain, and as you can see..it sure stands out. It is also impossible to find these days from the normal YearOne/Legendary Interiors/SMS supply houses. It isn't totally uncommon for different car manufactuers to use the same vinyl supply house for their materials. The original manufactuer for the vinyl is Stauffer Chemical. A large suppliers for vinyl and plastics for Mopar and other car manufactuers back in the early 70's Has anyone ever heard of this vinyl on a Comet or a Maverick? Or is this a dead-end? Any help would be appreciated. There is a small group of people who could use some GatorGrain..and all our time machines are in the shop! Thanks for any help, and happy holidays.
