I have a 71' maverick, with a 200 6 cylinder. I had the brakes inspected at les schwab a few weeks ago and he told me that they essentially were shot. Everything needs to be replaced, shoes, drums, and cylinders. He gave me a qoute of $626.33. Does this sound right? I got some qoutes from other places but they were all at least $300.00 higher.
Next question: I need to put in a new radiator. What should I expect to pay for a new one? 911 radiators has one for $140.00.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

Like to add to Ray's post to say that there is a libility concern when being in bussiness along with the overkill on parts.
Owning these cars or any other car, its a matter of being able to do some of the work yourself in order to keep the cost under control. I would believe that if you get the drums cut, buy the linnings and get the cylinders/master etc. and get some help, it can be done much less than the figure quoted. As for the radiator,if new go for that unit.
If you get into the job, there is direction right here on the board, to help..
