Actually I like RickyRacers post the best. With a little searching you can find a disc brake setup like he said. You'll be much more pleased with that instead of a new drum system. I have converted two of my 71's already and have the parts to convert another one which will be done shortly. I bought a 76 Mav parts car for $150 and used the disc brake setup from it on the last one I did. I sold enough other parts from the car to more than pay for my brake system. Try to find you a donor car first. This will be worth the effort...believe me.

Just go get you a disc brake set of spindles from a Mav/Comet or Granada/Monarch and then buy new rotors, bearings, calibers, hoses and get the prop. valve to go with it and make it front disc brakes. Probably be cheaper and you'll have better brakes anyway. You can use either a manual system or power.
