Ok, guys help me out. I'm in the process of putting a stroker (393) in my mav bracket car. I'm using a powerglide trans with a jw bellhousing adapter. My problem is headers, I've tried to build a set but cant get it to work. The engine is too close to the the lower part of the towers (due to the windsor's taller/wider engine). Also tried a set of old 302 headers that came out of the car, but they wont fit either. For those of you who have done this swap, what headers do I need to get, what engine mounts do I need? If you all have any pictures, that would be even better. I've already chopped the towers, but you can only cut the top part, the bottom has to stay in place for the upper a-arm to bolt to, and that's where the problem lies....nothing fits. I even tried to put a 1 3/4 piece of tubing between the head (victor Jr.) and the tower, and it wont even fit! Somebody please help! I'm beginning to think I might need to ditch it and go buy a mustang. This is just a shot in the dark but does anyone know if a modified set of the shelby style tri-Y headers could be made to work? Seems like the mods you are doing would be a bit much for me.A tube front would be easier for me.Good Luck.
