I put a factory air out of one car into another. The easiest way would be if you can find a working system to swap out. However, they are few and far between. Unless you want that factory look, I would suggest checking with companies like Vintage Air and see what they have to offer. Besides being all new stuff, It will run on 134a which is lots cheaper than r12. If you must have that factory air, It is easiest to change out the whole dash assembly. Removing the windshield is a must in my opinion. Things that usually are in the worst shape is the condensor (no longer available that I could find), compressor (available rebuilt), vacuum control switch in dash (usually plastic end breaks off), heater/air box(usually condensate drain nipple broken off), and all hoses which most well equiped parts stores can remake. I can give you more specifics if your interested in this route.
