I know the ARB Air Lockers are usually used for 4x4's and offroading, but what about using one in a "built-for-speed" car? Seems to me that you'd have the best of both worlds... locking diff when you want it (off the line) and curvy-road performance of an open diff. I know you'd have to have an on-board compressor and there are weight issues, but I'm not that concerned about weight. You could relocate the battery to one side of the trunk and put a compressor on the other to run your locker and end up with even better weight distribution. Any thoughts?
