Russ, I purchased one of the aluminum water pumps, it's supposed to fit a '82 mustang. I think it weighs about half, if not less than the iron one. Also, it's a standard rotation. If I remember correctly (correct me if I'm wrong), most 302's Ive seen later than around 1984 are reverse rotation, due to the serpentine belt.
