Thanks, Ken. Well, maybe I should hold onto it since it maybe unique to 1970. What's one more transmission sitting in my storeroom! Ha! -Doug
(I just can't throw anything away!)
===================================================== :=I have a 3-speed tranny that came out of a 1970 Maverick with 200 I-6. When I sold the motor, the bolt pattern did not line up to the guy's bolt pattern on his 1971 200 bellhousing.
:=
:=I was wondering what is so odd about the bellhousing I have on this 3-speed. (Just curious before it goes to the junkyard).
:=
:=Here is the ID on the tag on the tranny:
:=RAN_BB1
:=043552
:=
:=Here is the casting on the tranny:
:=C_AR
:=7006 (Then a BIG "B" to the right of this).
:=
:=[However, the casting could be:
:=G_AR
:=7006 (Then a BIG "B" to the right of this)].
:=
:=I would appreciate anyone's input. Thanks, Doug
.............
The RAN = model,
.....BB =suffix,
......1 = SVC Id,
....043552, 0 = 1970, 43552 = serial #
My guess is that a different version was used from 71 on. The trans have a number of holes to fit different engine/bell housing combos from 71 on by the pictures in the books.
Maybe someone else can add more to this.
