I just had to let you guys know about the deal I fell into today. A friend of mine told me about this Maverick sitting up in this guys back yard pretty close to where I live. I rode by and spotted it and the first thing I noticed was small rear bumper and Grabber stripes. The car was up on stands and you could tell it had been there for a few years. The front cap was missing along with the front suspension, engine, and tranny. The doors were rusted very badly, as were the quarter panels and trunk lid but spoilers were still there. It really looked kinda sad but I was more interested in what I didn't see. I decided what the heck...knocked on his door and asked about the car. He said, well, my wife bought that car brand new and I was getting ready to restore it but I kinda lost interest in it. I'll sell it but first let me show you what all goes with it. He took me inside his garage and showed me the following items:
1. Grabber front cap including hood with scoops, all in very good condition.
2. Three 302 engines including the original.
3. Two c4 trannies.
4. Front and rear bumpers, new, still in wrappers...perfect condition.
5. Cast iron 4V intake manifold.
6. New Holley 4V carb...still in box.
7. Four new Cragar mags...still in boxes.
8. Disc brake setup taken from a 74 Maverick he parted out.
9. Front cap from the 74 Maverick...very nice condition.
10. Grabber bench seats fully recovered, front and rear...never sat in yet. I'm not sure I'll use them, would rather have the buckets.
11. Original wheel covers and trim rings.
12. New OEM dash pad still in the box...God knows how long he has been storing some of this.
13. Numerous other parts I can't even remember right now, some new, some old.

He just kept going on and on and on about the parts in the attic which I haven't even seen yet. I just kept thinking, Geez...how much is he gonna want for all of this stuff. After listening patiently to a bunch of bs, he finally got down to it. He said "well, this stuff is probably worth about $1500 (I was thinking ALRIGHT) but who ever buys it is going to have to take everything...I want this garage cleaned out cause I'm tired of messing with cars. Give me $400 and you can have it. After a quick handshake and listening to 30 more minutes of bs (very patiently this time) I now own my fifth Grabber. This one is a 72 and probably won't be restored but I can use most of the parts on the 71 I am now doing.
Anyway, I just had to let you guys know about this one. I've been too excited to keep it all in.
Craig, I'll probably send you a pic of the car for your Mavericks in Heaven...this is a great candidate.

Everyone have a great day, I am.
