It is part of the starter interupt system. In order to start the car, the seat belt has to be on. This reset button was for a mechanic to use when he is working under the hood of the car...so he doesn't have to have somebody wearing the belt in order to work on the car.
in 1974 they started using the system in all mavericks

:=Just behind the washer resevior, in front of the shock tower on my 75(I-6 250) there is a little box that has some kind of reset button on it. What is it? Thanks
