The thermostat is also used to keep the engine in the operating temp. This is more important for engine life. If your car is running 190 and you have a 180 thermostat it would be wide open. 1. there might be alittle higher pressure but not much I say that becuase of the bypass hose and small holes in the thermostat. 2. Your theory would work if the radiator was big enough, as you know auto manufactures only put a radiator that's just big enough. |
