I am going with new gear in my ford 9 inch. My question is: I believe there are 3 different 9 inches through the years. (correct me if I am wrong) Different styles or something. I read a magazine once and I have the 2nd one to come out. Anyway if I order gears for it does it matter which one I have or are they all the same? Like I said earlier I may be confused so someone correct me if I am wrong. ............ What is your rear out of? The center section is independent of the housing differences. The ring and pinion is the same in all. The differences is in the carrier that the ring gear bolts to. Just order the 9" set you want. There is a large selection.
