Jimmy,

There are several opinions on the suitability of the 250 radiator for the 302 engine but I am using the "250" radiator on my '76 Mav and it runs 180 degrees all day long so I guess if its in good shape you can keep it.

As far as the crank is concerned... and bear in mind this is just me speaking, I'd probably get a good quality tap and see if I couldn't clear the stripped condition of the threads. If the doesn't work them (maybe?) tap out the threads to the next highest size. I'm not an expert engine builder but am just saying what I would do if it was MY goof.

The damper puller probably only damaged the first few threads so its probably ok to "chase" them to get it working.

Regards,
Tracy

do you think i can use my radiatore from my 250 with the 302
and is it possible to re-thread my crankshaft, i stripped it out when i was pulling the damper off of it, due to the fact that i forgot to put the bolt back in, or do i need another crank

=Plan on the following:
:=
:=1. V8 motor mounts (replace the tranny mount while your at it)
:=
:=2. Throttle cable, it IS different although you can improvise with a Summit Racing part.
:=
:=3. Fuel line... If your "old" fuel line goes to the engine aft of the drivers-side shock tower then you'll need to get the one that goes forward of the shock tower as is on V8 Mavericks. You can fab this yourself if you have the "I6" old line. Look under the drivers door for the short length of rubber tube and fab your line from there.
:=
:=4. Flexplate from a donor V8. You cannot use the flexplate off of your old I6, very bad things could happen.
:=
:=
:=
:=:=What are all of the reqiured alterations that will have to be done to put a 302 H.O. in my 1974 mav. with a 250 ci engine and a C-4 transmission
