OK, I'm sure I will get many different answers but that is what I want to be honest, it's about time to remove the break in oil (we used Lucas 30w break in oil) and I am trying to determine the best oil for this motor, price is not a factor as I will pay a premium if it is truly going to be what is best for the motor, synthetic or otherwise, I already have the filter I plan on running at every oil change (K & N performance gold HP-3001 wrench off).

So what oil have some of you used in the same basic set up we have that has gave you longevity? Thanks in advance

We run Federated oil and filters in all our stuff. Get it at our local Fishers.

It depends on your bearing clearances among other things.

my engine builder says 20-50 kendal. the viscosity depends on what the engine was built for, so check with your engine builder. i do know that synthetics will have a much higher chance of leaking.

Valvoline (or any major name-brand) 10w-30. Shouldn't need an additive since it's a roller cam.

I'd get 10,000 miles on it before running synthetic.

Although I am running a roller cam I do like the Royal Purple...and even though I don't have to have the zinc, it can't hurt at all, I may just go this route:chirp:

They have pretty much the same oil without the "HPS" label and zinc additive for non flat tappet motors I accidentally bought a case and had to return it lol. Watch out for that.. In the store here they stacked it all together!

I've used redline oil and I've ran pennzoil platinum. the pennzoil is made from natural gas and its properties are the best of synthetic and conventional. i currently run it now. highly recommended

Thinnest oil that'll give you 10spi for every 1k RPMS
since you got a roller cam, no need to really worry about zinc
I'd either use Amsoil or that new natural gas oil
btw, How you liking the new Street demon
its been a carb I'd actually would feel do slightly better then a properly Q-jet in regard to throttle responce
