hey guys,im converting my car from i6 to 302 with t10 and I need a floorshift column any have one to sell?the keyswitch is in the dash.
If you don't find one you can do what I did, just remove the shifter tube and linkage, cut the shift lever nub off the collar, fill and paint.
My maverick also has the key switch under dash so I used a column out of a 1969 Mustang - I can't be sure if it would be a direct bolt in replacement to your stock steering box or not as the bottom of mine was cut and adapted to a rack - 1969 Mustangs all have key switches in dash and floor shifts - looks close enough to give it a try - as long as you don't buy a used column being represented as coming out of an original Shelby, I found the columns to be inexpensive on Ebay
ok thanks everyone iwas planning on keeping the auto column but seeing how rare the floorshift columns seem to be ill just modify mine.
I don't believe there were any stock automatic or 3 speed standard floor shifters in 69.5 version with the key under the dash. I know there were 3 on the tree shifters. I tried for quite some time looking for a Maverick column that had no key and no shifter built into it and came up empty.
I had a very early 69.5 with a floor shifter. It was a parts car but still have the column. I can take pics of it on Tuesday if someone is interested.
I found an older pic of it, looks like it has the collar for the stick on the column but I have no doubt the car was an original manual on the floor
