Me and buddy took his car to Mason Dixon Dragway Sunday, had a good time weather was great, not many cars. But as you can imagine this is the home track for one of the well known Mavericks in our area.

This wasn't the Maverick of last year, Guess I missed the thread if it was posted but after watching it make several lightning speed passes it dawned on me that he must have changed some thing.
I mean wheelie bars, stock trim and scootin. Did I say Scootin. Man, I need to work on my junk.

Just wanted say well done Gary, didn't get a chance to come over but I must say you got that thing tuned up and I'm impressed. Your converter sounder spot on in the power band through the quarter.

Gary messed his other mtr up in Richmond Va on new yrs day.He posted somewhere on here that it is now a 427,not a 408 anymore,I`m sure it`s a stouter ride.I`m hoping he is going to the Legends race at MIR in Sept. so I can talk to him as I am planning on going. The only other race I will attend this yr is Dinwiddie in Oct. when the Pro Stick cars run, trying to save my money to put my eng.together in Sept.,collecting all the parts now.

Thanks Rick for the kudos! Yeah, it's now a 427. As Dan stated, I cracked the crank on the 408 I was running. Sunday was the very first hits on the 427. Had the wheelie bars just in case, but I also changed to an AJE front suspension and Calvert rear shocks. Kept it on the ground so I can lose the wheelie bars. It still has a lot left in it I hope when I get my carb back from Pro-Systems. Had a loaner on it for Sunday. Hey Dan, looking forward to making the Legends Race at the Creek, hope to have the bugs worked out by then.

Went back today, 8/9/15, air was a little better, new carb worked fine. 9.59 @ 141 and change. Still tuning.

that car is pretty deceiving with the way it leaves the line a little less dramatically than others running similar numbers. lots of power being used to get'er down the track that quick.

Hey Gary, are you planning on getting certified,or are you going to dial it back so you don`t have to.Some of the NHRA boys could get a little prickly,I`d be real dissapointed if they did`nt let you run,not to mention how you would feel. That is why I`m only shooting for what you were turning w/ your other eng,I don`t want the hassle.Of course, you could just run 1/8th stuff, but I don`t think you would be satisfied w/ that.

Did everything and licensed IHRA. Wearing all the safety gear and will run whatever they allow me at NHRA. Just not giving my money for all their overpriced hoopla! Mason-Dixon is the only NHRA track I race. Capitol is just down the road for me and they're IHRA.

The only reason I asked is because if you wanted to run VMP I`m pretty sure its NHRA.
