Hey, everyone. I have just about got everything lined up to put in my fuel cell and sealed battery box. I am in need of some pics and ideas of how you all installed yours. I have the 5 gal fuel cell from Jegs. The battery box is the Taylor aluminum made for Optima batteries. I am also installing the Flaming River Big Switch, and putting the solenoid in the trunk as well.

I am having trouble finding pics of what people have done to theirs. I just need a few pics to have something to go by. Thanks everyone!

Very nice work, I just did the same with some sheet aluminum, yours looks great though.
Here is my fuel cell\battery deal. It's the 10 gal. Summit aluminum cell and their sealed poly batt, box kit.

In my Maverick, my trunk has kind of a hump right in the middle where the fuel neck went. It is making it hard to put the fuel cell in flush. I'm either going to have to make a plate, or do some cutting.

Why are you switching to a fuel cell?

I cut that dang hump out and welded in a patch so to speak, and then I cut a square hole out for the sump and fuel lines to fit through, but I wish I would of left it all in the trunk with the fuel pump and filter. Filter and pump are in front of where the original tank was now. Some time soon it's all coming out so I can finish paint the trunk area.

Yeah, the way it is looking, that is the route I will be taking too. Cutting out the hump and going from there.

On mine the fuel pick up was on the left side, and my car has less than 17,000 miles, so it sat a lot, the inside of the tank had a 1\4" of rust and sediment. And it looks cool.

My tank was actually in pretty good shape on the inside. The outside though, was pretty rusty.

If you are going to race quite a bit you did the right thing,I have seen cars with ruptured fuel tanks burn up & it is not a pretty site especially if you are in it.
