    Finally got my new hood, fit and finish is great , well built , metal seems thicker than original hood , it almost worth the fortune I paid for it and to get it here to terrace b.c. Canada . image.jpeg

    Great to hear some feedback on these!

    Did the stock hood scoops fit the hood without any kind of modification? Does it have holes in the front for the hood molding?

    Looks like 'I spy' a yellow '73 Comet GT in the picture. You have anymore pictures of that car? Looks like our '75 Comet GT.

    Scoops dropped right in and fit very good ! Didn't check for mouldings holes but I will , and it is a 73 comet gt , very , very rotten , bought it for parts to do the v8 swap into the maverick . Car only has 63,000 miles but so rotten peices fall off when you close the doors

    Thanks for the info on the hood! Nice to have an alternative to trying to repair rusted out original hoods!

    I could see the 1/4 of the Comet looked pretty rusty. Glad you are able to use it for parts though! The Maverick you got looks like a very nice car!

    Hood Looks Great !! Nice Fit !! Thanks for posting the pertinent information about the hood .. I'm ordering mine "knowing" that I'm going to really tick my painter off since he just Finished painting my Maverick and a"Stock" hood with three color pin-stripe pattern to match the side pin-stripes. I'm convinced the "metal" hoods are the way to go .. (more substantial) glad Dynacorn decided to produce this metal hood Maybe I'll have it done by Power Tour time ( June this year) ..

    Is Melvins close to you? It would be best to find a local resaler of dynacorn so you dont have to pay shipping I found a local guy said $475 plus tax compared to the $400 for the stock slightly damaged one I have now I think I will buy one of these as well very reasonably priced compared to a used one with what seems like great quality

    No it's the same , the rh fender has some bondo in it on the area you are talking about but the drivers side is exactly the same.

    Hi 68gtx:
    I'm considering one of these dynacorn hoods for my Maverick also . Appreciate the photos of your hood installed..
    Can't tell from the pictures .. How does the horizontal "bend line" on the hood .. line up with the horizontal bend line on the adjacent fenders? Also when you attach the stainless hood trim .. does it line up pretty close to the headlight bezel area? .. I have a couple sets of the Hood "inserts" enough for my Daughters Maverick also so I'm curious if YOU are satisfied with the overall ' FIT' of the hood . Thanks in advance;
