Mine have a couple blisters on the chrome but I was thinking of painting them body colored. I know some mavs came body color but let's see what you guys have. Also consider buying some newly chromed ones on epay.

I cant say Ive ever seen or just realized that any had theres painted body color
I think almost all of them get rust bubbles in them. I was told you cant get rid of those either even if you sand blast them. I havent tried and it doesnt sound right that if you sand blast those things the little particles or bubbles wont disappear  they said when you try to powder coat them the heat is going to make them bubble again I was thinking of powder coating them black like me door panels

My Mav came stock with body colored boomerangs buy do not currently have a picture of them, out of the several Mavs and Comets I have had only three have been body color boomerangs and one of those the boomerangs were painted at the the factory and were chrome to begin with I figure they must have run out of plain metal and just used and painted chrome ones instead

Here are the ones that I had powder coated for the Stallion. They are alittle dusty but no bubbles.

I think the painted version is what was standard on strip models like mine:

Thanks, they are just gloss black. I figured it would be easier to match the body paint to the powder coat then it would be the other way around.

Wow, I'm always learning something new. I thought all Mavericks & Comets came with chromed boomerangs.

Hey is that a Brazilian grill? 'Love those wheels.

Great looking car, sits really nice too. We have similar setup that I have except the grabber blue. Same coilovers, billet mag 500, 347.... Are those 17x8's? I didn't know the boomerangs came in body colored either. Looks great on your Mav.

    Larry,
Thanks. The grill is a Grabber grill that I resurrected from the junk yard. The lights are Lucas Square 8 driving lights like those found on Shelby's and California Special Mustangs. I modified the sport lamp mounts and the grill to fit them and look factory.

    7D2 Grabber,
Our cars are pretty close, except for the color. They are 17 x 8 but I wish my backspace was a bit more. Think it was 4 but should have added 1/4 or 1/2 more.

    I like the painted boomerangs.

What lb. springs are you running up front, I've got a set of 400 installed and 500's sitting around. I don't have much time on the 400's and the 500's are new but I think they will be too much spring.

I believe in his thread he mentions American Racing wheels and 17x8 with 235/45

    Larry,
All my specs and links are in my Showcase post.

    7D2,
I have 500#. I have done a lot to stiffen the car up to get it to handle better. I have no issues with the springs.

Sorry, we seem to have hijacked this posting.
