I don't recall ever seeing or hearing of this toy. Anyone else? The price looks pretty reasonable. Does anyone know the story behind these toys? The grabber hood could have used some more work, though. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PROCTER-GAM...Action_Figures_Diecast_US&hash=item1c2c37f2ba
I've seen several Ford cars like that, I have a 71 Cougar, and the Maverick. I was told they came packaged with some kind of soap or laundry detergent.
Yes these came on the side of BIZ Landry Soap 1971. 5 different cars. I have a large collection of them.
Do you have only the one Maverick? Judging by your photo, there's lots of Cougars and Mustangs, etc, but only one Maverick--unless all your other Mavericks are in a display case? Are you in the market of selling one? If so, please PM me. I'd rather give someone here my cash than somebody from ebay. And if you're not selling, that's OK too! Thanks for the info.
Fun Mate Go Cars...There are more than 5 cars. There was a Mustang, Maverick, Torino, Thunderbird, and Cougar for the 71 cars, then for 72 cars there is the Torino and Mercury Montego GT, and the only non Ford product I've ever seen was a 72 or 73 Oldsmobile Omega (Nova body style), it came as part of a Post cereal promotion. There might've even been an LTD for 71 or 72, but I'm not completely sure about that.
Correct Uncle .....also have heard a rumor of a Pinto Funmate, but never confirmed it as the Holy Grail Funmate. I have also seen the Omega one you speak of, Hard one to find. Kirk
