c-6 tranny with overdrive

    anyone ever heard of a c-6 tranny with a overdrive mounted on the tailshaft like a vendors overdrive? i have a friend who has a 460 out of a Rv the tranny is a c-6 with a a overdrive an dive never seen one before ,does anyone know any iformation about these? im kinda interested in it

    That's probably a Gear Vendors unit. Ain't gonna fit in a Mav though.

    yep.. that man is right. No such thing as a C6 with OD.

    AFAIK.. about the best you could do before the AOD came out was a C5 with lockup converter. Cooler running with slight rpm drop during lockup but nothing like a true OD trans would do to affect rpm drops during cruise.

    thats kinda what i thought about the c-6 with overdrive ,it mus tbe a gears vendors unit,the whole engine and tranny came out of a RV so wasnt sure if ford did something special for vheicles such as that.i dont plan on fitting that engine in a maverick but i did think about buying it to put in my 58 f-100,i just know there is some good gear heads on here and though ti would ask thanks
