Hey everyone just curious how I can get the plate off where the rag joint connects to the steering column. I have attached photo of what I’m talking about
As said, it is part of the shaft. The shaft can be pulled out but you need to pull the whole column from the car and disassemble it.
Okay I’m looking at eliminating the normal rag joint and going to a solid steel joint I have seen it done on our cars before but can find it anymore
Was that part included w/ the R&P setup? How does it fasten to the shafts; assuming I only see set screws that's how it's affixed. Does the shafts have machined flats ground on them?
a non elastermer couplier was in the kit, I upgraded to the elastermer one. the shaft was a "D" style shaft so it was flat on one side. the steering shaft from the gear box was splined with a groove around the splines for a set screw.
