Hey Fellas, I'm working on my 76 2 door.. this car seems to have had many things changed out through out the years.. My window was getting hard to roll up or down.. I took the door panel off and found the regulator dry, the very little grease it has is dry and crusty.. I also found that one of the channel rollers is seized or at least very, hard to roll.. but looking up the replacement rollers the pictures show that the "roller" is more of a square slider.. (D6AZ-5323240-A).. I also see that there are replacement complete regulators available but for 70-73 and not 74 and on.. although the pictures I have seen of the replacement regulator looks a lot like the one I took out of the car.. What have you guys done for the round rollers? and do I even have the right regulator in my 76? it does have the inner door handle at the bottom

As I noted on your Facebook post, I think the issue is that the glass is "bolted" to the rail. It should be held on with plastic rivits. Get those and I bet it fixes your problem.

I understand that originally it came with plastic retainers.. I bought this car in 2009 and the windows have gone up and down fine up until last summer.. I believe the issue is the dried up grease in the mechanism and possibly a worn out regulator as it shows signs of rubbing on itself.. The grease is so dry that it won't even dissolve with brake clean, I had to use a wire brush to get it off.. the part that I'm not sure of is the difference in the regulators throughout the years.. this has round slides while Melvin's and others show square slides.. one of the round ones on mine doesn't rotate.. but that may not matter if it truly is there as a slide and not a roller.. this car has had lots of hands on it, lots of mods and some not for the best.. I'm just the latest one to have to deal with its quirks.. I am assuming that the difference in the regulators is that the 75 and up are different because of the inner door reinforcement? has anyone ever put a early regulator into a older MAVCOM or vise versa?

    The early regulator bolts in.

The later regulator is held on with pop rivits.

I still be the issue are those bolts. If the holes in the glass are not centered in the holes on the rail...then the glass shifts as you crank it up and down and it will bind. The plastic rivits center the glass on those holes. Bolts do not.

I have a 1972 that I bought a 1975 passenger door to replace my rusted out door with. It appears the regulators are different? Does anyone know where to buy a Late-Model window regulator? Searching all the basic parts manufacturers only list 1970-1974 regulators but these will not fit.
