I just bought a new fuel pump and it looks small.I have a 75 mav with a V8 the fuel pump it had looks way bigger than the new one i was wondering if the 75 use a different pump then the other years.Since i dont know if its the original engine still.I'm like the 6th owner i know the original was a 2bbl 302 but know it has a 4bbl manifold.Would it make a difference or not.
The best way to check is take off the old one and compare. The holes should line up the the lever that goes in the block would be the same length. Some times aftermarket will look differant but they work the same way.
most likly will work just fine. probably different diaphram design, or designed to work on a wider array of applications. only possible prob would be fuel starve at long-term WOT. you'll know if that happens , but i doubt it. did ya tell the parts store 4bbl? Check fuel pressure to avoid flooding. i had to run a regulator even on a stock fuel pump. my edelbrock seems to like 4 1/2 psi. shouldn't be over 6psi as a general rule.
