I don't know much about 4 door Mavericks so I pose this question out there for everyone that does. If you were building a drag car out of a 4 door, would there be certain years you would look for? Obviously, the big bumper cars would be heavier because of the bumpers, etc., but what else? Were there floor pan or body differences that would make it easier/harder to convert a 6 to a V8, etc.? Any input is appreciated as always. Thank you.

Im not positive but I dont think there is a difference..
The motor mounts etc from any v8 car should work, as well as the transmission crossmember an Zbar etc if you were running a manual transmission.
You might want to look for a 4 door that already has a 8 inch rearend however...

    Sorry Im not much help

Small bumper. You can always convert them too...

Other than the bumpers there is no significant difference over the 7 year production run.

To bad you're not closer. I've got a '73 4 door body that I've stripped down to a half rolling shell that I would give away. I've stripped the interior, drivetrain (originally 250/C4) and all wireing out of the car. Would be a great body to make a drag car out of.

2-door and four-door Mavericks/Comets are the same from the windshield forward.
