Me and Bkelley spent the day at Pull-a-Part. We decided to rent a golf cart instead of pushing a wheel barrel in the soft gravel . Didn't see any Maverick/Comets but we did find a few parts that will fit them. We got a factory AM/FM radio, couple vapor valves for the late model gas tank, remote sport mirrors from a 74 Mustang II, delay wiper box/switch from a F150, floor shift steering column parts, 302 kick-down linkage, Volvo fan controller, handful of electric trunk release switches, a couple column shifter indention springs and a bunch of other small parts. A Large Time Was Had by All
I must say, the golf cart was nice!... 6 hours there, seen every vehicle on the lot...LOL A.L.T.W.H.B.A
Who cares about the golf cart, I just wish there was something in the yards around here besides newer cars. Seems anything more than 10-15 years old has been crushed and turned into pop cans.
This was about the time we got some of those "Sit in that chair and WE will go pull the part for you" type junkyards. To me, that is mean as telling your wife to sit in the car while you run into Walmart for a few minutes...you knew that boat is wasn't gonna float as soon as you said it.
I went out to the local LKQ pick a part they had one 72 comet, the only thing half way worth getting was the inner door sill plates, one side is almost perfect just needs a new sticker, and the passenger had a slight crease but heck it was only $4, everything thing else was beyond rusted through tho and is due to be crushed today one less comet in the world.
