I haven't seen any, but I think the manufacturers are limited to what they can do due to the License from Ford. There was a small discussion about someone wanting the opposite of your request: They wanted a 71-style decal, not a 72-style template. I would imagine if you had a 72 decal, and access to a large format scanner and some capable sign place or CADD operator, you could have the negative of the decal cut as a stencil... http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=97348 .
I agree with you. The licensing deal seems to be preventing the current suppliers from selling a stencil. Unfortunately, spending over $200 to get a stripe kit for purposes of making a stencil doesn't make sense. I have had stencils made before as you have suggested, so the capability is there.
I have a Facebook site devoted to pavement circle track racing in PA and I wound up in a pi**ing match with one of the main photographers over reposting his "copyrited" photos - he finally gave in and let me post them but I understand this licensing deal all too well now
I'm making some headway. Just bought a 72 Grabber NOS fender stripe on Ebay for $17 which includes the "Grabber" insignia. I can mirror image it for the other fender. The door is easy because it is a straight stripe and the fender stripe establishes the spacing. Now all I need is a quarter panel stripe. You can purchase the hood stripe template already. Once I get the whole template set made, we'll be able to source it.
I probably could have made pencil rubbings of my stripes for you if you really wanted to, for the sides, etc. The hood stencil is the 71, but then of course, one could always just run a 1/4" wide masking tape up the middle to turn it into a 72 hood stripe stencil. Good luck with your stripes!
