I'm looking for a new Gas Tank, and I came across this:

    http://www.1aauto.com/1A/GasTanks/Ford/VanFullSize/F15D/8310

I'm wondering if it'll fit my 1974 Maverick? I'm only looking at that one 'cause I'll be able to spend that much. I can't find a Maverick Gas Tank off google, anyone know where to find one?

This website says '75-80 so I think they're confused. The only difference is between the '70-'72 and the '73 and later models right? I know it's more than you wanted to spend, but I think $60 is worth the headache of getting something else to fit.

From what I have seen the 74 tank was the same as the 71-73. In 75 they went to the larger tank. I dont know if it changed in mid year or not but I have yet to see anything but the small tanks in a 74. You can bolt the 75 tank in there but they require the longer straps and the way the vent is, might not be the same as yours. If not you can buy the vent set up from Ford still. Just check my Gas Tank Mod on this websight for the part numbers. Another difference would be your sending unit. It will bolt in but it may not be deep enough to suck out the last few gallons. Lastly, it will rub against you rear valance panel along the very bottom if you have a 71-73. 74's wont have this problem.

Merc, thanks for the link. I forgot all about that page. I'll let y'all know how it goes, just have to get the extra money for all this stuff. Never fails. Once I get the extra funds, I need it for something else.

    Thanks again, guys!
