Been looking for these for a while now,it's a 71 pro stock comet owned by Sandy Elliot and driven by Barrie poole in the early 70's.The car has been restored to it's original racing glory.Barrie Poole is still active in Super Stock drag racing today, and has a few national event wins under his belt too.ENJOY! Derek. P.S the t-bird is the car Barrie is currently driving owned by Tom Kovacs.

    I've seen....

...pics of the Mustangs that team had. I had never seen pics of the
Comet. I talk to the guy who owns the Randy Shartman drag car
that started as a Maverick, was switched to a Comet, then back
    to a Maverick. It's B429 powered. Is the Elliott car a B429 or a
Cobra Jet car? I know he ran some CJ Mustangs. I have pics of
    them in books.

    Derek,
Very nice! I'd looked for pics of the Sandy Elliott car before, but never came across that one of it restored. This is good news. I remember following it closely when they were still campaigning this car. I had heard that it was destroyed when it failed to stop at the end of the strip (Chute failure?). Apparently this wasn't the case. Do you mind sharing where you got the restoration photo and info? Thanks. A fellow Canuck...John B
P.S. Nice car you've got there Derek. We should get together some time. I'm just in Port Dover.
