1970 maverick that has a 70’s cougar transmission crossmember bar in it. It has a 1970’s c4 transmission out of a truck in it. Want to put a floor shifter in. The problem is that the piece from the transition that connects to the shift rod is going the wrong way. It’s going down and for a floor shifter it needs to go up. Is there any way to do that? Can I just turn it around?

You need a shift shaft for a floor shifter. If you can find one, swapping the shafts requires dropping the transmission pan and the valve body...

You need lever like this one on a '71 Floor shift transmission. Removed by dropping pan and removing nut on inside. May require removal of valve body.
