Hello, I started my new job today and me and an old man was talking and he said he had a yellow 70 maverick grabber with black hood & side strips, 6cly, buckit seats, the grabber hood with the scoops and magnum 500 wheels for 4 lug. He said it was a Special order car he bought new. got it for $2100 in 1970. if you wanted and specail orded it could he have gotten 1. bucket seats 2 Magun 500 in 4 lug 3. I am not 100% sure on this but did they even make a grabber in 70 He said he did not order it some one else did and back out and thats how he got it st8 off the show room floor. Thanks Jim
They did make a Grabber in '70-no Grabber scooped hood. I have never seen 4 lug Magnums however. Seth
Car was likely a 1971 model They did make a Grabber in 1970, Craig Selvey runs the registry for these The Grabber hood with the scoops only came on the 1971 and 1972 models Bucket seats were not available from the factory in 1970 I have never seen a 4 lug Magnum wheel
the dixie mav picture depicts what could be construed as mag 500s and they are 4 lug. i think i saw those on a pinto and or must 2. they are smaller rims. scoops are definately 71 on model year. still though, get him to join
Ok thanks, He also said it had a floor shifter. I forgot to add that in the post. It was probley a 71 or 72. he is a realy nice old man, he may just not remember correctly. How would I get a hold of Craig Selvey to run the registry on my 70 maverick?
Thank you. which MARTI report would i need to purchuse to find out if mine my be a grabber or not? Basic. deluxe, or elite Thanks Jim
I am guessing the man had a 1971 ... like today ... the 1971 models would have come out in September 1970 so he might have been mistaken. There weren't any nostrils or buckets in 70 as everyone has mentioned .... never seen 4-lug Ford Sport wheels or Magnums either ....
I think these are the rims they are thinking are mag 500. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Must...43954QQitemZ8034743323QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
Hello I talked with him today, and he got the car in late 1970. he said it was in the winter and he said it was probley a 71 he just remembers buying it in the winter of 1970. did all 70 grabbers have the striping kit on them? Thanks
